Weekend Skiing in Isola 2000

It's been two years since I've been skiing, and so it was something that I wanted to find time to do this year. Living in Cannes means that I'm only a 90 minutes drive away from the mountains and the nearest ski resort, Isola 2000. Anna and I booked an airbnb for St. Patricks day and headed up there for two days of skiing in crazy, snowy conditions! [Read more]

La Tete de Chien, Monaco

As the weather on Saturday has been pretty horrible, Anna and I wanted to enjoy Sunday's sunshine as much as possible! I needed to be in Nice to pick up my laptop that afternoon, so it made sense to take the train along the coast somewhere anyway! I had seen a couple of photos of the view from the top of the Tete de Chien hike overlooking Monaco, and so that was the plan! [Read more]

Aix-en-Provence

As soon as Anna arrived in Cannes, she needed to head back to back to Aix-en-Provence where she had been living last year to grab some of her things. Having never been to Aix I jumped at the chance to join her for the day. Although the weather wasn't on our side, I still had a great couple of hours exploring the city with Anna as my tour guide! Exploring Antibes

With a completely free Saturday, I wanted to take the train along the coastline one stop to Antibes! I had been with my parents many years ago and remembered that I had loved it. My aim was to walk through the old town, along the front and up to the lighthouse but after an hour, with the weather so nice, I decided to stop and sunbathe on the beach! [Read more]

Hiking the Nietzsche Trail to Eze Village

Although I've been here for 3 weeks, I haven't yet had a free weekend to relax and explore at my own pace. I wanted to spend at least a day in Cannes so I could do some laundry and clean my appartment, but on the other day I really wanted to do something. So myself and a group of girls decided to do the Nietzsche hike, a steep 1 mile vertical climb up from Eze-Sur-Mer to Eze village. [Read more]

22

Yesterday I celebrated my 22nd birthday in Cannes. Although I was working during the day, I met up in the evening with some of my friends who are working as superyacht crew and based in Cannes, and we celebrated at the Irish Pub next to my appartment. [Read more]

Chessie's 21st In Barcelona

This past weekend I flew to Barcelona to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday. It felt so good to be back in one of my favourite cities, and although I wasn't there for long, we had such a great weekend! [Read more]

My First Impressions of Cannes

It's Sunday evening and tonight is my second evening in my appartment in Cannes! After Mum left earlier today, I've spent the afternoon unpacking, sorting out the appartment, and buying some food to keep me going for the next couple of days. It's been about 5 months since I've been back in this part of France and I couldn't be more excited to be putting down my roots here for a while. [Read more]

I'm Moving To Cannes!

Currently this is one of only a few photos that I have of myself in Cannes, but that's about to change! On Saturday morning, I'm taking an early flight down to the Cote d'Azur where I'm planning to be based for around 6 - 9 months! Whilst I'm there I'll be working for the yacht charter company 212 Yachts, and it will be my first full time job with hopefully lots of responsibility! [Read more]

3 Weeks Back Home

After 4 months in Paris away from the UK and my family, it's been super nice to be able to spend a couple of weeks catching up and spending some quality time with them. I was particularly excited to be in the UK at the same time as Charlie who was over from Singapore, and I finally got to meet little Bea for the first time who was born out there 5 months ago. [Read more]

From 2017 to 2018

Once again, it's that time of year and I can't quite believe how incredible 2017 has turned out to be! It genuinely seems like only yesterday that I was writing last year's post and crossing my fingers that I would make it through my second year of university, have an exciting summer, and enjoy my time in Paris whether I was studying or working. Well fast forward 12 months and this year has definitely been one to remember! [Read more]

My Paris Experience

When I first arrived, if I'm to be honest with you, I had low expectations. I was excited, but I was also trying to be realistic and preparing myself for the fact that I may not love Paris as much as I hoped that I would. 4 months later, and it's fair to say that my expectations were blown out of the water and I have completely fallen in love with this city and everything that comes with it, good and bad. [Read more]

Our Last Super In Paris

Before leaving Paris, I wanted to organise a large dinner at my favourite restaurant before everyone began to leave Paris and head home for Christmas. After 15 weeks, and with only one week to go, we enjoyed a bittersweet supper at Auteuil Brasserie in the 16eme. [Read more]
